Read more about this workshop
Musikk/konsert
For funksjonshemmede
Sunday June 23 @ 9:00 AM

In electronic music, the computer is your main instrument. There are no rules for how electronic music should sound, allowing for the opportunity to find your own expression and method.

In this workshop, you will:

- Learn to use the program Ableton Live to create music/sound.
- Be taught the differences between Audio and MIDI.
- Learn to combine multiple sounds.
- Learn to create a rhythm.
- Have the opportunity to explain your process and your work to an audience through a studio visit.

In electronic music, there are no fixed rules on how the music should sound; you are free to choose the sounds and tools you wish to use. It’s open to experimentation and play, and the learning process is just as important as the final product.

In this workshop, you will learn to use a computer with Ableton Live to create sounds and compose a piece. You can use the program's built-in sounds and instruments in MIDI, or record sounds with a microphone and use your voice, your body, or other objects to create sound. You will learn some basic methods to assemble these sounds into a complete work.

Difficulty Level

No previous experience in music production or composition is necessary. We can adapt the workshop and the level to suit different participants. There are no rules; you can create exactly what you feel for or what you think you can achieve. Some understanding of computer/laptop usage might be helpful.
